The Honorable Dr. Amos Wilson taught us in Blueprint for Black Power (1998) that "In the 21st Century our biological destiny will be determined by our economic destiny." Thus, in all human activity we must think of ourselves as "A Nation-within a Nation."

Malcolm X said "Revolution is based on land. Land is the basis of all independence. Land is the basis of freedom, justice, and equality."

A 'major disturbance' broke out August 21 at San Quentin Prison after two convicts, one of them George Jackson (R), a Soledad Brother, tried to escape from their rock-walled enclosure. Jackson was killed in the escape attempt, the other prisoner gave up and was recaptured. The Soledad Brothers are three black convicts charged with slaying a guard at the Soledad State Prison in January 1970. They are (L-R): Fleeta Drumgo, 26; John W. Cluchette, 28; and Jackson, 29.
