South Africa has launched a case at the International Court of Justice accusing Israel of genocide against Palestinians in Gaza. The application calls for the ICJ to grant an urgent order declaring Israel was in breach of its obligations under the Genocide Convention and to order Israel to immediately suspend military operations in Gaza. It is the latest move from the African nation attempting to increase international pressure on Israel. South Africa also closed its Israeli embassy in Pretoria and suspended all diplomatic relations with Israel last month.
