Dr. Na’im Akbar (1944) is a world renowned clinical psychologist well known for his Afrocentric approach to psychology. He is a distinguished scholar, public speaker, and author of several books including Visions For Black Men, Light From Ancient Africa, Know Thy Self & Breaking The Chains Of Psychological Slavery. Dr. Akbar’s simplified way of explaining psychology to his audience makes it easier for them to understand how racism in America impacts the mental health of Black people on a daily basis.
